MARANELLO KART UNDER THE SPOTLIGHT AT THE FLORIDA WINTER TOUR IN HOMESTEAD-MIAMI
Maranello drivers put in an excellent performance in North America as team Prime Motorsport led by Trevor Wickens lined up 6 drivers in the opener of the Florida Winter Tour. The recent Rotax Grand Finals International Champion in Spain, Mikko Laine, on the podium in DD2 Masters.

Great performance for Maranello Kart in the States in the first of the three rounds of the Florida Winter Tour. The first International round of Rotax season took place at the karting track Homestead-Miami Speedway, in the south of Florida, and will be followed by the two rounds of Orlando (1st March) and Ocala (27th March).

Six driver got on track wearing Maranello North America colors among the ranks of team Prime Motorsport led by team manager Trevor Wickens, that benefited from the support of Alessandro Levratti from the Italian factory. The drivers got on track on the newly homologated Maranello Kart chassis in DD2 and DD2 Masters, shining in the two Finals held during the weekend.

The Finn Mikko Laine -- International Champion at the recent Rotax Grand Finals held in Spain --   put in a great performance in DD2 Masters ending Sunday's Final on the podium with a great second place after shining also in the first Final held on Saturday. The Canadians Elvis Stojko and Stuart Clark were also among the front runners in DD2 Masters and closed their effort  very close to the podium, as Stojko took P4 in the first Final on Saturday leading his team mate, while
the two swapped positions in Sunday's Final with Clark ending fourth and Stojko fifth.

The Canadian Robert Wickens, who also competes in DTM, has been among the front runners of DD2 ending Final-1 in P7 and then Final-2 in eighth place. His fellow countryman Fred Woodley, who has also been among the main interpreters of the Rotax Grand Finals, ended 15th in the first Final of Homestead but then counter-charged in Final-2 taking a solid P8. The other Canadian driver Luke Chudleigh, who also competes in Formula Renault, has been hit by bad luck instead. Chudleigh had in fact to give up due to a strong pain to his ribs after the 9th place in Prefinal and the 14th in the first Final.

The Florida Winter Tour will resume from Orlando Kart Center in the weekend of 27th February -  1st March.
