WACKERSDORF, TIME FOR PAYBACK?
This weekend Wackersdorf, Germany welcomes Round 2 of the CIK-FIA European Championships. The opening match did not go as planned, but this time Maranello is ready to battle.
The German circuit is ready to give the green light to Round 2 of the CIK-FIA KZ & KZ2 European Championships. The middle of three rounds, the event marks the clipping point of the championship: here the hunt for the 2014 title will narrow significantly.
Maranello is in great shape, ready to tackle the weekend with its top drivers Lorenzo Camplese and Marco Zanchetta.
For both drivers, the opening round in Genk did not go as planned, for different reasons. The first of the two had to sit the race out, due to a sudden illness. The other kept up with the best on track and did an amazing rebound race in the prefinal, but two clashes (in the heats and in the final) sent him home without any championship points.
Galvanized by bad luck, Maranello Racing has arrived in Wackersdorf ready to get its due. The cards are stacked right, at least for Camplese, who dominated the latest meeting of the Italian Championship in Sarno, taking the lead in the title hunt. Zanchetta, instead, was again hunted by misfortune and is now eager to shake off the bad vibes and enjoy a weekend up top.
