BERNARDOTTO DEFENDS THE MARANELLO NAME IN THE CONFUSION OF THE WSK
Maranello Kart participated to the third and final round of the WSK Super Master Series in Muro Leccese with Enrico Bernardotto, who proved again he was a great championship player, even though bad luck kept him from racing a top final.

As previewed in the past weeks, with Zanchetta and Camplese now focused on the Italian Championship and Germany’s DKM, the task to defend the Maranello name in the WSK Super Master Series fell on Enrico Bernardotto alone.
The final act of the Series had a troubled start for Enrico: in the qualifyings he couldn’t do better than 22nd, even if all gaps were narrow.
In the heats he was thus forced to start from mid-field and fight hard: he placed 16th and 14th, then struggled a bit more in the third race and ended again 22nd.
At the intermediate classification he was 17th.
The pre-final was another feat: Bernardotto started off well and gained some ground over the first laps. Then, the fourth time around, in the middle of the pack, with gaps between rivals down to 2 tenths or less, he quickly slipped from 15th to 22nd.
From here Enrico set off on a slow, but steady climb back up and closed 17th.
The main race, however, came with a bad surprise: the Maranello driver was forced to withdraw after only one lap.
Bernardotto closed the WSK Super Master Series in 21st place with 10 points, knowing that with some good luck he could have done better. Yet, the experience acquired and the impressions collected over the series are keeping hopes high for the rest of the season.
