GOOD RESULTS FOR MARANELLO KART IN WACKERSDORF FOR THE SECOND ROUND OF THE GERMAN CHAMPIONSHIP IN VIEW OF THE EUROPEAN CHAMPIONSHIP ON 19th MAY. ZANCHETTA SET THE OVERALL FASTEST LAP TIME IN THE FINAL, WHERE HE PLACED 13th AFTER RECOVERING MANY POSITIONS. ALSO LUNDBERG PERFORMED WELL EVEN THOUGH HE WAS OBLIGED TO RETIRE. TESTING CONTINUED ON MONDAY WITH THE PARTICIPATION OF DE BRABANDER, ANDREAS HANSEN, MOVSESIAN AND TILLOCA.
Lonato del Garda (Brescia - Italy). Maranello kart achieved very positive results in the second round of the DKM (German Championship) run in Wackersdorf. The race took place just few days before the KZ and
KZ2 European Championship, on schedule at the weekend of 17th-19th May on that very same track.
The Maranello's drivers who took part in last Sunday's race were the Italian Marco Zanchetta and the Swedish Douglas Lundberg, both on a Maranello RS10-Tm.
Zanchetta and Lundberg were two of the 69 KZ2 drivers: Zanchetta set the fourth time and Lundberg the eighth in their qualifying session. Then, Zanchetta did well in the heats too: under Saturday's heavy rain he managed to achieve a second place and some other good placings. On the other hand, Lundberg was dogged by bad luck: he got pushed out of track several times and, eventually, he was obliged to retire in the second-chance race too.
A contact with Pex in the first Final obliged Zanchetta to retire too. Despite that, Maranello's driver managed to redeem himself in Final 2: he started from the bottom of the starting grid, recovered lots of positions and achieved a remarkable 13th place. The two Finals were won by the French Anthony Abbasse, but the fastest lap time was set by Zanchetta with 49”199, the final seal on an outstanding performance.
A race which allowed Maranello to gather important data for the preparation of the European championship of 17th-19th May. Maranello ran more tests on the following day, on Monday and always in Wackersdorf, with all its drivers: Yannick De Brabander, the other Danish Andreas Hansen, the Greek Serkos Movsesian and the Italian Luca Tilloca, who joined the team recently. All the drivers were satisfied with the equipment and are ready to take part in the next challenge for the European championship.
In the meanwhile, this weekend Maranello Kart is participating in the Italian championship of Sarno on 12th May with Massimo Dante and Nicola Gnudi, besides Mattia Drudi at his debut in the gearbox category..
