MARANELLO KART 2013
THE DOUBLE PODIUM IN KZ2 AT THE 24th ANDREA MARGUTTI TROPHY CONFIRMS THE EXCELLENT COMPETITIVENESS OF MARANELLO KART
MASSIMO DANTE AND DOUGLAS LUNDBERG CONQUER THE SECOND AND THIRD PLACE ON THE PODIUM. THEY WERE AMONG THE TOP DRIVERS IN THE KZ2 CATEGORY OF THE ANDREA MARGUTTI TROPHY. GOOD PERFORMANCES ALSO FOR LORENZO LAPINA AND NICOLA GNUDI. NEXT APPOINTMENT IN ZUERA
Lonato del Garda (Brescia - Italy). The 24th Andrea Margutti Trophy, which took place last weekend on the South Garda Karting racetrack, confirmed once again the excellent competitiveness of Maranello Kart. The team and its drivers were the protagonists in KZ2 of the traditional event organized by Parma Karting in memory of the young driver deceased in 1989.
In Lonato, the protagonists of the KZ2 were the two Maranello Kart's drivers Massimo Dante (Italy) and Douglas Lundberg (Sweden), both on Maranello RS10 powered by TM. They deservedly achieved second and third place, battling inch by inch until the end against the winner of the Final, Kristian Habulin on CRG-Modena of the KK1 Team.
After their terrific recovery in the Pre-final - from 6th to 2nd for Massimo Dante and from 9th to 3rd for Douglas Lundberg, in the Final Dante took the lead and kept it for the first five laps. Then he dropped back to third place behind Lundberg.
In the last four laps of the Final, Dante closed the gap and placed second, always followed by Lundberg, but still behind Habulin who, in the meantime, had gained one second lead over them.
Maranello's double podium at the 24th Andrea Margutti Trophy confirms the excellent performing qualities of the Italian factory, after the great beginning of season in the Winter Cup, with Yannick De Brabander, the success achieved by Marco Zanchetta in the KZ2 Final of the WSK Euro Series in La Conca and the victory and third place of Massimo Dante himself and Nicola Gnudi in the recent Spring Trophy on the South Garda Karting circuit.
At the Margutti Trophy Maranello Kart was outstanding also thanks to Lorenzo Lapina (on Maranello-Modena), who did a great recovery from the 28th place of the Pre-final to the 13th of the Final, and Nicola Gnudi (on Maranello-Tm), who placed 14th.
The other Maranello's drivers, on the other hand, were a bit unlucky: Jonas Hansen and Enrico Bernadotto were obliged to retire almost immediately, while the Greek Serkos Movsesian did not manage to start in the Final.
Next, important appointment for Maranello Kart on 24th March in Zuera for the second round of the WSK Euro Series, with Marco Zanchetta among the sure protagonists of the race in KZ2.
