EXCELLENT THE COMPETITIVENESS OF MARANELLO KART WITH STEFANO CUCCO IN THE SECOND ROUND OF THE WSK MASTER SERIES
ON THE CIRCUIT OF SARNO CUCCO IS AMONG THE MAJOR PROTAGONISTS IN KF2 AND REACHES THE FOURTH PLACE IN THE PREFINAL. BAD LUCK PREVENTED HIM FROM ENTERING THE FIGHT FOR THE VICTORY. DESPITE THAT THERE IS GREAT SATISFACTION FOR THE PERFORMANCE OF THE RS9 CHASSIS.
Sarno (Salerno - Italy). Excellent performance for Maranello Kart with Stefano Cucco in the second round of the WSK Master Series which took place on the International Circuit Napoli in Sarno. The event saw once again the participation of all the top drivers and teams of the international karting, with 240 drivers on the starting line.
It was a particularly positive weekend for the Italian factory, with important results for the good qualities of the RS9 chassis and the competitiveness of the whole team. In KF2 Stefano Cucco was among the best, confirming his position among the top drivers of the category since the qualifying session; after the qualifying session he placed fourth in the prefinal, standing more than a chance to fight for the final victory.
Unfortunately, in the final race a power failure did not allow the driver from Biella to express himself at top level; his final 13th place is definitely unfair for the excellent performance of both the team and the driver.
"We started well with the 8th time in the qualifying session - says Stefano Cucco at the end of the race - then, in the heats we were often with the best, always with very interesting times. In the prefinal, starting from the 16th place, I managed to recover as far as the fourth place, also running quite fast. After the heats we had modified some details of the chassis in order to adjust it to my style of driving and to the characteristics of the track. On such a fast track, where throttle releases and brakings are tough, you need lots of grip on the front, and the chassis responded really well. On the other hand, in the final, I had a slight power failure: that's a pity, also because the engine had always been awesome. Before the power failure, I did believe in this race. At the start of the final I found myself in sixth position, but I was anyway with the leading group and I thought I could win. I always believe I can win, even when I start from the last position my goal is victory; when I'm with the leading drivers I feel I must believe I can win. That's why the result we got left a nasty taste in my mouth. For sure, next race I'm going to get what I missed here, given that I consider the track of Castelletto as my track."
Also Alessandro Levratti's comment (the sports manager of the team) is positive: "We are satisfied with Stefano's performance. He showed he was able to match the top drivers since the heats. Stefano is getting the hang of our equipment and the results are remarkable. In the final we started from the fourth place but we were unlucky and the engine encountered a slight power failure. Anyway, the weekend was positive: we are on the good path to achieve good results."
